Handicapper's Corner: Las Virgenes (G2)

Short Select Field vies in Las Virgenes

Just five three year old Fillies line up in what could be a walk over for Bellafina, who lost as the heavy favorite in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies last fall at Churchill.

Bellafina ran impressively in her three year old debut last month at Santa Anita winning by 8 and earning a super 95 beyer.  She’s talented, working well, and has already stomped on a few of her opponents today. Bellafina is a stand out in this spot.

Mother Mother is the second most logical in this spot.  She has faced the top choice twice being beaten by a total of 13 lengths.  Working well but looking like Baffert would have to  do magic to finally get her ahead of Bellafina to the wire.

Enaya Alrabb has only been to the gate three times, with her last being a great effort in the Grade 1 Starlet back in early December.  This will be her first start as a three year old.  Like her last two works and if she can step forward she may be able to give Bellafina a run for the money.

Sorry to say the other two entered are running for 4th and 5th.

The Play…..if you must.
$10 Ex box Bellafina/Enaya Alrabb
$30 Ex Bellafina/Enaya Alrabb

Have A Day!
